Diemersteiner Tal - A Realtime Visualization
2023
Tasks
Scripting via Blueprints, 3D Scanning, Scan Cleaning, Modeling, Lighting, Rendering
The project aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the Diemersteiner Valley through a multi-touch application. It guides the user through an interactive real-time visualisation of the valley and its historic post office. Historical information about the building and its history can be accessed via various viewpoints. The focus is on the Ritter family and their long history as owners of the post office. Users can gain detailed insights into the family and overall historical context, which played a central role in the region for generations. The application combines state-of-the-art technology and cultural heritage to bring history to life and make it accessible.
As project coordinator and implementer, I was responsible for the technical and graphic realisation in collaboration with the students in my role as a student assistant at the VX-Lab at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences.
