Brazil - A Mixed Reality Exibition
2024
Tasks
Scripting via Blueprints
For the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the first German settlers in Brazil, a digital, immersive mixed reality experience was designed and realised for the Kaiserslautern City Museum and the Hunsrück Museum in Simmern. In addition to the analogue exhibitions, the history of emigration and immigration in both Kaiserslautern and Simmern is supplemented and made tangible through virtual formats. For this purpose, 3D printed dioramas were transformed by Meta Quest 3 using Unreal Engine 5 into living dioramas that tell the story of the emigrants from Germany to Brazil.
I was mainly responsible for the realisation of the digital exhibition in the areas of coding in blueprints, shading and lighting. The biggest challenge was the uniform synchronisation of several VR glasses within a larger space. This was solved using Metas Spatial Anchor Systems.
